Looking for multicultural Christmas songs? Here's a traditional song from Latin America called "Angelus." The verses tell the story of the Annunciation and the chorus gives a nod to the Magnificat. (As a Protestant, I omitted the verse about Mary the Mother of Jesus being an immaculate soul). At my first multicultural church, we struggled to perform this song. It will require a very accurate and agile Spanish singer, and the accompanying band will need to remember every picardy third. It's a good song to begin Advent at your church!
