"Comfort, Comfort Ye My People" (Sacred Jazz) by Deanna Witkowski

April is Jazz Appreciation Month, and I found this gem (be sure to watch the score video after the introduction!) by musician and fellow Wheaton Conservatory graduate, jazz pianist Deanna Witkowski. As someone who sang in a performance of Handel's Messiah (this same Scriptural passage began its libretto), I particularly enjoyed the smooth melody and text setting. This song would work well as an offertory or "special music" in a church service.
