Looking through a few songs by Central American worship leaders, I particularly enjoyed this work by Guatemala-based group, Miel San Marcos. The tune is catchy and exciting and the lyrics are uplifting. I imagine it wouldn't take a non-Spanish-speaking yet passionate congregation long to be blessed by this song. Lyrics and English translation below:
Spanish:
Un estruendo de muchas aguas se escucha aquí,
trae sanidad trae libertad gozo y salvación,
es el río del Señor que nace de su corazón;
nunca se secará y ésta ciudad se alegrará
Yo danzo en el río . . . en el río de Dios
Ríos de vida están brotando en mi interior
fuente inagotable que viene del cielo fluye aquí,
Es el río del Señor que nace de su corazón;
nunca se secará y ésta ciudad se alegrará
Hay vida en el río de Dios,
hay gozo en el río de Dios,
soy libre, libre, el río de Dios está aquí
English:
A roar of many waters is heard here,
bringing healing, bringing freedom, joy and salvation,
it is the river of the Lord that is born from his heart;
it will never dry out and this city will be glad
I dance in the river . . . in the river of God
Rivers of life are sprouting inside me
an inexhaustible source that comes from heaven flows here,
It is the river of the Lord that is born from his heart;
it will never dry out and this city will be glad
There is life in the river of God,
there is joy in the river of God,
I am free, free, the river of God is here
