Perhaps my current favorite Gospel Christmas song is "It's Christmas Time," popularly sung by Juanita Bynum and Myron Williams. It is a duet (maybe a solo) along with a vocal ensemble background. When the Gospel choir of a church I served sang this song, we had a talented father and stepdaughter singing duo helming the solos with some awesome improvisations, and it sounded great. "It's Christmas Time" was a bit difficult to transcribe, and I wished I could have added the brass, but it's a great song! My favorite line is: "Christ will have His day!" Here is the video. Lyrics are below:
Chorus 1
It’s Christmas time, time to let it go
It’s Christmas time, time to let love show
It’s Christmas time, time for us to say
It’s Christmas time, and Christ will have his day, it’s Christmas time
Verse 1
Time for family, friends so dear
Time for spreading joy with Christmas cheer
The time to say I love you can never be too much
To bless someone with sharing and a loving touch
Verse 2
No more worries, no more fears
No matter what your struggle is your joy is here
Its that time of year to leave the past behind
Its time to celebrate the Savior and let His glory shine
Bridge
Oh, Christmas day to me means more than just a holiday
To visit with my family and friends
Oh, what it really means to me is the day that Jesus came
Heavens precious gift to me
Chorus 2
It’s Christmas time, time to let it go
It’s Christmas time, time to let love show
It’s Christmas time, time for us to say
Leave it all behind, let his glory shine!
Chorus 3
It’s Christmas time, time to let it go
It’s Christmas time, time to let love show
It’s Christmas time, time for us to say
Leave it all behind, let his glory shine! It’s Christmas time!
