Understanding and following God involves embracing paradoxes: reigning over the world from an instrument of execution, already and not yet, etc. This Gospel song addresses some of these paradoxes. It's moderately (but not extremely) upbeat, and its melody and chord progression are straightforward. However, it's strongly recommended that this song be done with vocal harmonies (preferably 3-part) as frequently as possible. Fortunately, the harmonies are not difficult to figure out. Lyrics below:
There's beauty in my brokenness,
I've got true love instead of pain
There's freedom though you've captured me,
I've got joy instead of mourning
You give me joy, down deep in my soul, down deep in my soul, down deep in my soul,
You give me joy, down deep in my soul, down deep in my soul, down deep in my soul
I never been so free, caught in your love for me
I never been more secure, knowing your heart, Lord
